Plas com are a family owned business, manufacturing and supplying Plasma, Laser, Oxy-Fuel and Water-jet cutting consumable parts, torches and maintenance items compatible with most leading systems. Parts are dispatched same day throughout Europe and other worldwide destinations. Plas Com also supplies new and refurbished CNC cutting systems.
IssuesPlas com had an existing web presence but the website only offered basic functionality and did little to drive sales or provide service to customers.
ObjectivePlas com has enjoyed growth in sales through all traditional marketing channels, and are now pursuing an increase to their sales and marketing exposure online. Plas com also required an efficient means of tracking quotes and subsequent sales for new and existing customers to enhance service levels and provide information to customers and resellers online.
SolutionThe solution was to direct the project in a 3 phased approach:
Phase1
A database driven e-commerce website was produced, with an online searchable parts facility to enable potential and current customers the ability to find the correct fitting for their type of equipment. An Administration section that includes a users section, parts database, news stories and details of machinery that is available for sale along with all details of orders submitted. Ability to pay on-line using a secure credit card facility
Phase 2
Creation of a customer quoting system that will enable users and agents the facility to create their own quotations in a multiple of currencies. These quotations can then be tracked by the admin office, storing them on-line for future reference, retrieving them as and when necessary to close the sale. Creation of a customer log-in section to allow for the purchase of quoted goods at specific price and the ability to pay on-line against an existing credit account. Quotes can be viewed and downloaded by the customer in the login section and administration messages can also be displayed to customers.
Phase 3
A full and concise customer relationship management (CRM) system which tracks customer logons and their purchases, reporting back with trends and histories. The system also provides a calendar function, that flags enquiries with reminders that will notify the sales team of potential new business that needs following up.
The phased website project was completed on time and on budgetary target. Plas Com now has a complete set of online tools for their streamlined sales & marketing processes. The system CANDA Systems developed quickly became integrated into Plas Com’s business and has become an invaluable and efficient sales tool. Their customers also love the ease in which the system can be used.
